Lisa Tapia

Paralegal

Lisa Tapia is an experienced paralegal whose commitment to family law is rooted in both professional experience and a personal understanding of the challenges individuals face during difficult family transitions. Since beginning her legal career in 2011, Lisa has developed a diverse legal background and a passion for helping clients navigate complex legal matters with clarity, compassion, and dignity.

Lisa earned her Paralegal Studies certification from the University of New Mexico and is an active member of the State Bar of Texas Paralegal Division. Throughout her career, she has gained experience in criminal law, civil litigation, personal injury, estate planning, and private employment law. While her professional background spans several practice areas, she has found her greatest sense of purpose in family law.

Lisa's dedication to helping families is deeply personal. Having experienced the challenges of a difficult divorce herself, she understands the emotional and practical complexities that can accompany the legal process. That experience inspired her commitment to helping others navigate significant family transitions with greater confidence and understanding.

Originally from Santa Fe, New Mexico, Lisa gained foundational legal experience working at the District Court before relocating to the Austin area in 2011.

In addition to her professional responsibilities, Lisa is passionate about community service and access to justice. She volunteers with Volunteer Legal Services (VLS) and supports organizations such as the Innocence Project and the Austin Justice Coalition.

Lisa believes that compassion, empathy, and legal knowledge are essential to supporting clients during some of the most challenging periods of their lives. Her personal experiences and broad legal background influence her thoughtful, client-centered approach to family law.

Outside the office, Lisa enjoys expressing her creativity through dancing, painting, photography, writing, crafting, and jewelry. A lifelong learner, she is currently studying several languages and hopes to refresh her American Sign Language skills.

She also enjoys working out, attending baseball and hockey games, listening to live music, reading, baking, and spending time with her family and beloved Yorkie, Gidget.
